Eastern Market shoppers have a new gourmet destination to visit: Radici, an authentic Italian market and cafe has opened in Capitol Hill.

The new 1,600 square-foot space features imported gourmet Italian bread, meats, cheeses, wine, and coffee. Owner Bridget Thibodeau-Sasso tapped local award-winning architecture and design firm Studio3877, led by co-founders David Shove-Brown and David Tracz, to create an environment inspired by the brand’s name, “Radici,” Italian for “roots” as well as authentic Italian markets, cafes, and restaurants. Terracotta tile, brick, wood tones and custom millwork can be found throughout, creating a rustic atmosphere for shoppers to grab an espresso on the way to work, pick up simple, delicious ingredients for their family's dinner, or wind down with a glass of wine at the end of the day.
