José Andrés' Zaytinya Hosts 4th Annual Greek Easter Festival

From our friends at Zaytinya...

Celebration to Feature Exclusive Menu Specials & Events

From March 29th through April 12th, José Andrés and the culinary team at Zaytinya, led by head chef Michael Costa, will celebrate the fourth annual Greek Easter Festival. Guests will enjoy food and drink specials, as well as special events including Agorá, where the outdoor patio will be transformed into a traditional Greek Outdoor market and $35 pre-fixe brunches to celebrate both Western Easter (April 5) and Greek Easter (April 12).

On March 29th, the Greek Easter Festival will kick off with Zaytinya's fourth annual Greek outdoor marketplace, Agorá. In honor of the celebration and Greece's rich culinary tradition, the marketplace will feature Greek goods from local vendors available for purchase, as well as complimentary food and wine tastings that will highlight the best of Greece. To complete the festive scene, Achilles Greek band will be playing traditional Greek music and Spartan warriors will be mingling with guests. Sample vendors will include Dionysos Imports, Winebow, Baklava Couture, The Mediterranean Way and Kaldes Bros Trading Company. Admission to Agorá is complimentary.

For Western Easter (Sunday, April 5th) and Greek Easter (Sunday, April 12th), head chef Michael Costa will offer a special $35 pre-fixe brunch from 11 AM to 4 PM. The menu welcomes the warm weather with classic Zaytinya dishes alongside springtime brunch items, including Spring Pea Tzatziki with pistachios, Greek yogurt and mint, Mayiritsa, a traditional egg and lemon soup with lamb neck, smoked lamb's liver and caramelized onions, and Spit-Roasted Lamb Shoulder Hash with Cretan barley rusks, feta and avgolemono sauce. Reservations for brunch can be made here.

Zaytinya will also be unveiling its new spring menu items during the festival including dishes such as Kibbeh Nayeh with Lebanese-style Randall Lineback Ruby Veal tartare, bulgur wheat, radish, mint, pita chips, Roasted Asparagus with z'atar, labneh and rhubarb puree and Smoked Sweetbreads with asparagus salata, Lindera honey vinegar dressing and roasted hazelnuts, and drinks such as the Metaxa Fizz, made with five year metaxa, lemon juice, orgeat syrup, bitters and egg whites.
