Opens Thursday, April 16th, through Sunday, April 26th
The Washington, DC International Film Festival (Filmfest DC) today announced the lineup for its 29th annual film festival, which will run in the nation’s capital from April 16-26, 2015. Continuing its commitment to present some of the best new cinema from around the globe, the festival will feature a diverse range of films from over 30 countries in categories including World View, The Lighter Side (comedies), Trust No One (thrillers), Justice Matters (social justice), Rhythms On and Off the Screen, Reel Jazz and Shorts.
This year Filmfest DC will open with Tango Glories (Argentina), in which the memory of an almost forgotten past comes back to life as a doctor and his patient bond over the wonders of tango era Buenos Aires. Their friendship uncovers long suppressed secrets blended with beautiful and sensual song and dance in which tango is more than just an old ideal - it’s a way of life.
Now in its 29th year, Filmfest DC is back to celebrate nearly three decades of bringing thousands of entertaining, thought-provoking and original films to Washingtonians.
