Capitol Hill Volleyball Classic Attracts More Than 35,000 People for Youth Volleyball Tournament
Capitol Hill Volleyball Classic brought to you by MetroAmerican Volleyball Club hosts its 9th annual tournament over
President’s Day Weekend (February 14-16) bringing more than 35,000 athletes, spectators and
staff to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
The Capitol Hill Volleyball Classic has consistently grown
by more than 100 teams each year and has grown to be the largest youth
volleyball tournaments in the country held on President’s Day Weekend. In 2014,
the tournament had an estimated economic
impact on the city of Washington D.C. of more than $14 million in one weekend.
“The sport of volleyball and the Capitol Hill Classic
continues to grow at an incredible rate and we are thrilled by the support we
receive from the volleyball community who travels to this tournament from all
over the United States and Canada,” says Bonnie Goldberg, Executive Director
for Capitol Hill Volleyball Classic.
Over 200 collegiate volleyball coaches will attend the
three-day tournament. Expected attendance is approximately 35,000 players and
spectators. The convention space utilizes all of the exhibit halls for a total
of 118 courts in over 800,000 square feet. USA Volleyball has designated this event
as a ranking tournament.

E. Washington Convention Center every year. The tournament started with
