Free "Bobbie" Subs to First 100 in Line
Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop founded in Wilmington, DE and long a favorite of Delaware beach-goers, expands its presence on the East Coast as it opens its third DC-area location Monday, December 15 at 3347 M Street, NW in Georgetown. The first 100 in line at 11 AM Monday receive a free "Bobbie," Capriotti’s signature sub.
The 34th and M Street corner building once housed the Cellar Door music club where legendary artists like Miles Davis, Jimmy Buffet, Jackson Browne and John Denver performed.
Known for roasting whole turkeys daily and making sandwiches to order, Capriotti’s has been brought to the DC market by local businessman George Vincent, Jr. The 33 year-old Landon School and University of Maryland graduate plans to open a dozen Capriotti’s location in the region over the next two years. Vincent has two Capriotti’s stores in the DC-market at 1800 M Street, NW, where Vice President Joe Biden was its first customer, and at 1500 Wilson Blvd., Rosslyn, VA.
Hot and cold sub sandwiches in three sizes, sandwiches made to order, a selection of salads and four vegetarian subs, plus a kid’s menu make up the offerings at Capriotti’s. The best seller, The Bobbie, was recently named “best sandwich” in the Washington Post’s World Cup of Sandwiches competition, is made with in-house roasted turkey, homemade stuffing, cranberry sauce and a touch of mayo.
