September is
Turkish Cultural Heritage Month, and Sunday marked the pinnacle of said month. The 12th annual
Turkish Festival took over Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, and featured a wide variety of authentic Turkish art, culture and (my personal favorite)
food. Admission was free, as was the entertainment; and happiness was in abundance. Without the distraction of
another Redskins loss (they got hammered on Thursday night instead) there was no excuse to miss one of DC's most underrated festivals. Let the fun begin...
