Jaleo Crystal City celebrated its 10th anniversary in grand style last night with a dazzling all-inclusive array of food, drinks and entertainment. Hundreds (upon hundreds) of hungry regulars filled Virginia's favorite tapa spot throughout the 4+ hour event, feasting on Spanish cheeses, meats, desserts and wines... not to mention some of the best paella on God's green Earth. Even a steady stream of showers couldn't dampen the enthusiasm, as Jaleo transformed into a Spanish market of sorts - showcasing the "red fury's" many regions of cuisine.
Leave it to José Andrés for replacing aluminum and tin as traditional 10th anniversary gifts with whole legs of Jamón ibérico (cured ham.)
