Convention Center to Host MMA Event, August 23rd

Mixed martial arts returns to the nation's capital this Saturday night at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. OO Fights (formerly Operation Octagon) DC’s largest and longest running MMA promotion hosts OO 32 - a scheduled five-hour MMA marathon with a whopping 23 matches (as of May 27th) including five title matches! Tickets cost $40-$1,000, and are available online (click here.)

The main event has yet to be announced; but odds are, it will be one of the aforementioned five title matches. Undefeated Middleweight champion Brandon Murchison (3-0) will face Scott Noble (3-1) at 185 pounds. Welterweights Jay Bee (2-0) and Raz Syan (4-1) will do battle; as will 155-pounders Sunni Imhotep (2-0/3-1 Muay Thai) and Tevin Cooke (3-0.) 23-year-old Pete Petties (5-1) takes on Virginia's Jeffrey Melvin (5-2) for the featherweight title; and Bantamweight champ Roque Zapata (3-0) of Zamora Boxing Gym defends his title against veteran Duy Le (6-1.)
