Summer Menu Debuts at Roof Terrace Restaurant

From our friends at the Roof Terrace Restaurant...

Summer Makes a Theatrical Debut at Roof Terrace Restaurant

New Seasonal Menu to Excite Theatergoers and Patrons

The Roof Terrace Restaurant and Bar at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, welcomes the highly-anticipated summer theater season with a fresh, innovative menu. Executive Chef Joe Gurner and Pastry Chef Kendra Stephens have updated their appetizers, entrées and desserts to captivate patrons long before the curtain rises.

Refreshing summer starters include scallop crudo, in a spicy harissa vinaigrette and garnished with cilantro or the popular spicy tuna tartare, served with flavorful pickled cucumber and won tons. The vegetarian white asparagus soup is drizzled with hazelnut and truffle oils and sprinkled with parmesan cheese.

Chef Gurner excites patrons' palettes with main courses like the grilled branzino, served whole with fennel, orange, and fingerling potatoes. He gives Maryland crab cakes an exotic spin with green curry, mango, papaya, and coconut-citrus coulis and serves house made goat's milk ricotta gnocchi with grilled asparagus, pecorino and lemon.

Chef Stephens saves some of the best for last. Her Côte D'Ivoire is a chocolate lover's dream made with chocolate mousse, milk chocolate feuilletine crunch, and dark chocolate ganache. The equally satisfying shortcake is topped with house made crème fraîche vanilla coconut cream and fresh fruit salsa.
