GRK Opening in Dupont Circle Friday, July 18

From our friends at GRK Fresh Greek...

2014 Breakout Brand to Bring Modern Greek Cuisine to Dupont Circle

GRK Fresh Greek will open in Dupont Circle (1140 19th Street, NW) on Friday, July 18th. Dupont Circle will be the first DC location to experience what Nation's Restaurant News calls a "Breakout Brand of 2014."

"I want people in the nation's capital to experience the food I have enjoyed in Greece since I was a child," said principal Alex Alevras. "The flavors of Greece are available in a fast casual, modern restaurant at an affordable price."

GRK's signature Yeero is spelled phonetically to differentiate this signature classic Greek dish from the traditional gyro. The result is a product unlike other gyros, due to the unique process in which they are made. Guests are invited to choose from marinated lamb & beef, chicken, pork yeero or portobello mushrooms served on a classic pita house-baked in a wood burning oven, or served on a plate.

Fresh, authentic Greek yogurt provides the perfect vessel for a variety of unique sweet and savory toppings imported from Greece, including black cherry, rose petal, and fig preserves.

The interior of GRK focuses on modern Greek culture as opposed to the traditional décor many Americans are used to. Soft lights hanging from the ceiling and pops of color in the form of wall panels add warmth and vibrancy to the clean, minimalist design. An open kitchen provides a fantastic view of the roasting meat and high-tech oven. Lunch, dinner and late night dining is offered on the outdoor patio or inside. Beverages include beer and wine, as well as a variety of Greek sodas and Illy coffee drinks.

GRK will be open Monday through Thursday 11am to 10pm, Friday 11am to 3am; Saturday 12 noon to 3am; and Sunday 12 noon to 10pm. For more information, please visit www.grkfresh.com, like GRK on Facebook, or follow the team on Twitter @GRKFresh.
