About Scott Speed:
What was going to be a one-race deal for X Games Brazil in the series’ Star Car turned into a full-season ride after Scott Speed scored an improbable victory. Five months later, Speed stood atop the podium once again in his adopted hometown of Charlotte, on the way to a fifth place finish in the series standings. This was all despite, at least initially, putting his focus into running at NASCAR’s highest level. In 2014, the priorities have shifted entirely. Upon landing what immediately became one of the most prestigious seats in GRC - an Andretti Autosport Volkswagen Beetle alongside two-time series champion Tanner Foust - Speed’s focus will be on adding a rallycross championship to an already impressive trophy shelf.
