The Mayflower's Edgar Hosts Six-Hour Event for Passport DC's Embassy Tour, May 3rd

From our friends at the Mayflower Renaissance Washington, DC Hotel...

It’s a cultural affair at The Mayflower Renaissance Washington DC, Hotel! The historic hotel, which accommodates international guests and diplomats alike, will host an “Around the World in 6 Hours” event at Edgar Bar & Kitchen to celebrate Passport DC’s “Around The World Embassy Tour” on Saturday, May 3 (10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.). During the six-hour fiesta, Edgar – known for its cleverly crafted beverages and pairings – will serve signature cocktails from the various countries participating in this year’s Embassy Tour.

Patrons can order from the list of global concoctions including, the Bahama Mama – a Caribbean favorite from The Bahamas; the Caipirinha – Brazil’s brew of Cachaça (sugarcane rum), sugar and lime; the Pisco Sour – the egg white-infused national drink of Peru and Chile, and Sake – Japan’s popular fermented-rice beverage.

Paired with the cocktails, Edgar will offer Quinoa-inspired dishes to pay homage to the “International Year of Quinoa” – a new feature to this year’s festivities. Guests will receive a complimentary serving of Chef Andrew Morrison’s General Tso’s Chicken with Quinoa when they order one of the specialty drinks. This new twist on a popular Chinese dish will be plated in a 4 oz. to-go box with chopsticks. Also, a Quinoa-sweet treat will be given to guests with their check to enjoy.
