Tortilla Coast Capitol Hill Rolls Out New Spring Menu

Indulge with Specialty Tacos, Build Your Own Burritos & Enchiladas and Texas Favorites

Tortilla Coast Capitol Hill, a local Tex-Mex hot-spot and second home to politicos and residents of the Hill for 25 years and counting, rolls out its spring menu today, Tuesday, March 4. In addition to new specialty tacos and build-your-own burritos and enchiladas, the legendary Hill dining institution will now serve daily the BBQ Brisket and Chicken Fried Steak from its seasonal Texas State Fair menu.

By popular demand, Tortilla Coast introduces new specialty tacos to the bill. Meat lovers can delight in savory Brisket Tacos—shredded roasted beef in a guajillo adobo sauce or Al Pastor Tacos—slow roasted pork with adobo and pineapple, served with pineapple relish. A local favorite, the Ahi Tuna Tacos will still be available among other selections, including Carne Asada Tacos and Carnitas Tacos.

Whether at lunch or dinner, a business meeting or a dinner date, guests are now able to create their own burrito or enchilada at Tortilla Coast. Build it your way with a choice of chicken, BBQ chicken, ground beef or steak. Put on the final touch by adding your choice of house-made sauce: ranchera, beef gravy, sour cream or tomatilla. All dishes are served with black beans and rice; guacamole available upon request.

Guests can also enjoy an authentic taste of Texas with delicious southern dishes like the house-cured and smoked BBQ Brisket and battered and fried Chicken Fried Steak, both accompanied by succotash and whipped potatoes. These two items, previously just offered on the restaurant’s limited edition Texas State Fair menu, are now available year-round.

“Our new menu is inspired by our Tex-Mex heritage and the wants of our guests,” said General Manager Bil Anderson. “The new items offer the flavors, variety and ability to customize what they crave. They spoke and we listened.”

Tortilla Coast Capitol Hill is located at 400 First Street SE at the corner of First and D Streets SE near the Capitol South Metro Station. Hours are Monday through Wednesday from 11:00am to 10:00pm, Thursday and Friday from 11:00am to 11:00pm, Saturday from 11:00am to 10:00pm and Sunday from 11:00am to 9:00pm.  Brunch is served on Saturday and Sunday from 11:00am to 3:00pm.
