Capture the Luck of the Irish at Rí Rá Georgetown this March

From our friends at Rí Rá Georgetown...

Celebrate St. Paddy’s Day with Month-Long Specials and Irish Bands

This week, Rí Rá Georgetown (3123-3125 M Street, NW; 202-751-2111) began its month-long celebration of St. Patrick’s Day with food and drink specials. Enjoy a special Irish happy hour available all day, every day, and authentic live bands throughout the month at Georgetown’s newest watering hole.

Guinness-inspired mixed pints, for just $6, are sure to bring the spirit of Ireland stateside. The special cocktail list features unique combinations like Black Fog—a mixture of Guinness with a splash of aromatic Chambord. For a punch of Irish flavor guests can try the Snakebite—a combination of Guinness and cider. Irish coffee fans will delight in the Midnight Maria—a mixture of Guinness with a splash of Tia Maria.

Of course no observance of St. Paddy’s Day would be complete without traditional corned beef and cabbage.  For this essential taste of Ireland, Rí Rá Executive Chef, Christian Struck, has created a mouthwatering corned beef house-brined for weeks in a flavorful mixture of clove, mustard, bay leaf and garlic. The classic dish comes served with curly cabbage, creamy mashed potatoes topped with an Irish parsley sauce, and a fresh garden salad, for only $15.95.

Leading up to St. Patrick’s Day, Rí Rá Georgetown will fly in bands directly from the Emerald Isle, transforming M Street into a lively corridor to rival the streets of Dublin. Live performances from Ruaille Buaille and Gypsy Rovers will have Washingtonians dancing the jig from March 11 through March 18.

On Monday, March 17, Rí Rá Georgetown will be the ultimate locale for Ireland’s most sacred holiday.  The party starts early as the restaurant opens at 7am for a traditional Irish breakfast amidst a statue of St. Patrick himself. The festivities continue throughout the day with live Irish dancers, bagpipe players and more performances by Irish musical acts.

Ri Ra Georgetown is open regularly Monday – Friday from 11:30am until close and Saturday – Sunday from 10am until close. For more information about St. Patrick’s Day and other offerings, visit www.rira.com/georgetown/ or call (202) 751-2111.
