Colonials Add Mermelstein, Winstanley and Zois for 2014-15
George Washington gymnastics head coach Margie Foster-Cunningham has announced that Sara Mermelstein (Northpoint, N.Y./Northpoint Senior), Jillian Winstanley (Arlington, Mass./Arlington) and Alexandra Zois (Crofton, Md./Archbishop Spalding) have signed National Letters of Intent during the early signing period and will join the Colonials for the 2014-15 academic year.
"We are very excited about these three student-athletes that will be joining us next year," said Coach Foster-Cunningham. "We are graduating six gymnasts this spring so our focus for this class was replenishing the talent we will be losing on balance beam and uneven bars. This class addresses our needs and we expect immediate contributions from all three of them."
The Colonials open their season on January 12 by hosting the Seventh Annual Lindsey Ferris Invitational at the Charles E. Smith Center.
