Rialto Announces Grand Opening, Serves Up Authentic Italian Food in Style

Rialto, a new authentic Italian restaurant located in the heart of Georgetown, announces their grand opening. The restaurant's official grand opening is happening on September 26, 2013 and serving dinner only at this time. The restaurant is located at 2915 M Street NW, in a beautiful historic building in the prestigious Georgetown neighborhood. The restaurant aims to serve top-of-the-line Italian fair in an upscale atmosphere. Restaurant hours are 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. weekdays, Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 a.m., and Sunday brunch from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

“We are excited about our new menu, which blends Old World Italian cuisine with contemporary ideals,” explains Ryan Fichter, executive chef of Rialto. “We have put together a great menu and have created one of the best atmospheres around. This is going to be a winning combination.”

Rialto, which means to “rise to ascent” in Italian, is also a popular district in Venice. The name was also given to an historical bridge constructed in 1590 and is still standing today on the Grand Canal. The restaurant menu and décor have been designed to transport diners to Venice with every dish.

Featuring partially open kitchens, Rialto serves up fresh-made pasta, imported specialty ingredients, and fresh seafood, and offers a cheese counter. The downstairs area of the restaurant will be an exclusive dining zone with a dress code. The décor is unique, custom made, and most of the items have been imported from Europe. The new menu at Rialto features a variety of authentic and contemporary dishes, served in both family style and piattini style (small dishes) to encourage sharing, including polenta, pizza, risotto, and pasta. Signature dishes include gnocchi pomodoro, polipo Barolo, and capesante. The menu features a variety of dishes that are meat- and seafood-based, as well as a variety of vegetarian-friendly dishes.

“We have something for everyone, including brunch, appetizers, main dishes, and even authentic Italian desserts like tiramisu and gelato,” added Chef Fichter. “It’s a culinary delight that you won’t want to miss trying!”

Started by three industry veterans, the restaurant is one of three restaurants owned by the trio of Ben Kirane, and Moe and Joe Idrissi. The other two restaurants the trio own, and where Chef Ryan is also the operational chef, are Thunder Burger & Bar, and Bodega Spanish Tapas & Lounge, both located in the heart of Georgetown.
