Plan B Burger Bar Named Global Hot 100 Co. at World Summit

From our friends at Plan B Burger Bar...

Founder and CEO of Plan B Burger Bar Will Showcase the Company’s Innovation Story at The World Summit on Innovation & Entrepreneurship

Plan B Burger Bar has been named a Global Hot 100 Company, and its Founder and CEO, Allie j Gamble, has been invited into the World Summit on Innovation & Entrepreneurship (WSIE) as an Innovator – one of the world’s most emerging companies in business and society.

The WSIE was launched at the United Nations in 2006 under the support of three UN agencies and several multinationals.  Al Gamble will be recognized for Plan B Burger Bar. The summit event will be held at the Museum of the Moving Image in New York City October 9-11, 2013.

Plan B Burger Bar has eight locations throughout Connecticut, Massachusetts and Washington D.C. The award-winning restaurant features all-American craft beers, bourbon, and burgers made from beef that is ground in-house daily, always fresh, never frozen, and free of antibiotics and hormones.

‘It is an immense honor to be selected as one of the Innovators” says Gamble. “I’m looking forward to sharing our story of Plan B Burger Bar – how we laid the foundation to grow a national ‘micro-brand’ by focusing on the local communities around us. The casual food and beverage segment is changing with an increased demand for high-quality, environmentally sustainable food that is locally sourced. An incredible burger isn’t enough. Consumers deserve businesses that support their town or city with values, ideals and flavors that connect people to the communities they live in – from hiring local employees, to ordering beer from regional breweries. We support and promote local farmers and serve their produce in our restaurants. We work with local artists for the artwork that hangs on our walls. We host events that mean something. It matters when you partner with groups that truly make a positive difference in the lives of others,” says Gamble.

About Plan B Burger Bar:
Plan B Burger Bar was founded in 2006 by Al Gamble and Shawn Skehan. The award-winning, all-American burger, bourbon and beer bar provides a sophisticated dining experience in an upbeat, relaxed, neighborhood environment.

Plan B offers fresh, never frozen beef that is ground in-house daily like old world butchers have done for centuries. This ensures the total quality control and freshness of every burger. The beef is part of a Never, Ever program, guaranteeing that the animals were never given hormones nor antibiotics, are allowed to exhibit natural animal behaviors, are fed a 100% vegetarian diet and are fully raised in the U.S. Plan B is also widely recognized for their extensive bar offerings, specializing in American boutique bourbons and hand-selected craft beers with certified Cicerones (beer sommeliers) on staff.

Plan B Burger Bar was named one of the fastest growing private companies in the country in Inc. Magazine's annual 500|5000 List in 2010, 2011 and 2012. Inc. also recognized the restaurant group with its Hire Power Award as the top job generator in Connecticut, ninth job creator in the nation for the food and beverage industry and #98 overall nationally.

Food and Wine listed Plan B as #3 for Readers’ Picks of their top 20 burgers in the country in 2013. They are also the #2 restaurant in Connecticut on UrbanSpoon.com, and listed as, “Best Bang For Your Buck,” in Zagat’s. Former Connecticut Governor M. Jodi Rell named Plan B the best burger in the state during Connecticut’s first annual Plan B Burger Day on May 28, 2009.
