Diego Garcia in Concert, Thursday at Sixth & I

Former Elefant frontman Diego Garcia will visit the Sixth & I Historic Synagogue Thursday night to promote his new CD (and second solo effort) Paradise. The concert begins at 8:00 PM with tickets available for just $15 ($18, day of.) Seating is limited, as the show will take place in Sixth & I's intimate Downstairs venue; but rest assured, there isn't a bad seat in the house. To purchase tickets online, click here.

I was given an advance copy of the CD last month, and it's really, really good. His music has "grown up" a lot since his Indie Rock days with Elefant. Think modern and romantic, with latin under/overtones... not to mention Garcia's trademark Spanish guitar. My favorites? Start with the End (with its Flamenco style) Thoughts of You and the upbeat Sunnier Days. I've already added Paradise's second track, Tell Me to my "romance" playlist <smile.> Great music to sit back and relax to (with a glass or two of Merlot.) To get you in the mood, here's the Official Music Video from the aforementioned Sunnier Days.

Check back after Thursday to read our review of the show.
