Screenwriter Michael Weber to Host Q&As at DC Opening Weekend Shows of The Spectacular Now

Angelika Mosaic and Landmark E Street will welcome screenwriter Michael Weber to host Q&As after select shows of THE SPECTACULAR NOW on Friday, August 9th. Mr. Weber will appear in person following the 5:30 PM show at Angelika Mosaic and 7:45 PM show at Landmark E Street to discuss the film and take questions from audiences. He will also introduce the 10:15 PM show at Landmark E Street.

THE SPECTACULAR NOW opens in Washington, DC on August 9 at Landmark E Street, Landmark Bethesda Row and Angelika Mosaic. Tickets for the Q&As and other showtimes are available online and at theater box offices.

Mr. Weber wrote THE SPECTACULAR NOW screenplay along with Scott Neustadter, based on the New York Times Best Seller by Tim Tharp. The two also penned the screenplay for the critically acclaimed 500 DAYS OF SUMMER. Their upcoming screenplays will include adaptations of two New York Times best selling novels: The Fault in Our Stars by John Green and Rules of Civility by Amor Towles.

With sly humor and an intensity of feeling, THE SPECTACULAR NOW creates a vivid, three- dimensional portrait of youth confronting the funny, thrilling and perilous business of modern love and adulthood. This is the tale of Sutter Keely (Miles Teller), a high school senior and effortless charmer, and of how he unexpectedly falls in love with "the good girl" Aimee Finecky (Shailene Woodley.)

What starts as an unlikely romance, becomes a sharp-eyed, straight-up snapshot of the heady confusion and haunting passion of youth – one that doesn’t look for tidy truths. The film was written by Scott Neustadter and Michael Weber (500) DAYS OF SUMMER and is based on the book, The Spectacular Now, by Tim Tharp. The film also features wonderful supporting turns from Brie Larson, Kyle Chandler, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
