Celebrate National Donut Day Friday

National Donut Day was created back in 1938 to pay homage to female volunteers who passed out doughnuts to U.S. servicemen in World War I. It happens every year, on the first Friday in June. This Friday marks the 75th anniversary of this momentous occasion; and if you play your cards right, there may be something in it for you (no military service required.)

Popular chains Dunkin Donuts and Krispy Kreme will be celebrating in style... with free doughnuts. Krispy Kreme takes the direct approach: Each customer gets a freebie (no purchase necessary.) You have to work a little harder at DD: Free doughnuts with any drink purchase. Either way, you can't beat the price!
