A Slice of Wegmans

Meat Lover's Pizza at Wegmans

Wegmans isn't so much a grocery store, as it is a food experience. In addition to the standard fare bakery and salad bar, there's a sit-down restaurant, a hot food bar and pizza station. Hang on, did someone say pizza?

Yes, we did. Sporting more than half a dozen slice options, Wegmans could easily be mistaken for a local pizzeria (without the muss, fuss and cost.) My friend and I took advantage of their 2 slice combo meal for $6.29. That's one slice for me (Meat Lover's) and a slice and fountain drink for her. If you're traveling solo, you can grab a slice of cheese for $2.69 or any other slice for $2.99.

I was amazed at how friendly the employees were at this particular station. After they warm your slices up, you can take them to go, or eat at several tables in the back. My slice was beautiful to look at (I lost count after beef, ham, pepperoni and sausage) not to mention hot and tasty. Color me impressed for Wegman's tomato sauce; but their cheese is so-so at best. It had a nice crust, although I prefer mine a little crispier (something tells me it has to do with all that weight on top.) I can't wait to try a whole pie next time around.
