Anatomy of a Cupcake at Best Buns Bread Company

Chocolate with Toffee Frosting cupcake

Who says you have to visit a cupcakery for great cupcakes? Best Buns Bread Company in Arlington, Virginia gives any fancy boutique a run for their sweet money. Better known for their scrumptious breads (Big City Sour... yum!) Best Buns makes a killer cupcake too. I settled on just one (frown) before heading to lunch... a chocolate cake with toffee frosting for a mere three bucks (plus tax.) Delicious.

Moist cakes signify a grade A cupcake, and BBBC's chocolate cake was incredibly (almost impossibly) moist. The cake's pretty big too, and topped with a creamy toffee frosting with toffee crumbs for texture. If not for Buzz, this would be the best cupcake in Arlington and perhaps the entire Metropolitan area... It's that good. The bakery itself is busy and vibrant with friendly service. If I lived nearby, I'd stop in at least once a day.
