Taste of DC Wraps Up

Dance for the Dying performs at Taste of DC

This weekend featured not one, but two food festivals: Talk about foodie Heaven. Taste of DC wrapped up its three-day celebration of all things delicious today, as Pennsylvania Avenue played host to 50+ DC restaurants as well as a slew of culinary and musical events.

Good things don't come cheap: Admission cost $10 (kids 12 and under got in free) and included a free soda, water, Stella Artois or wine. That's a little steep compared to the free Taste of Bethesda, but closing down Pennsylvania Avenue between 9th and 14th streets has to cost something. In addition to a slew of restaurants (including Ben’s Chili Bowl, Rosa Mexicano and Wicked Waffle) this year's Taste of DC featured a Safeway Culinary Stage, Stella Artois' Beer Garden and a dazzling array of musical talent (including Sean Paul on Saturday.)

I lucked out today, catching a great set by local artists Dance for the Dying (pictured above.) The rain gods were kind, and temperatures hovered in the 50's for the day. Attendance was down a bit from this weekend, but Columbus Day isn't a holiday for everyone, is it?
