Hoyas Top Wagner, Win Home Opener

QB Aaron Aiken (12) leads Georgetown to victory over Wagner

Junior kicker Matt MacZura kicked a 35-yard field goal with less than two minutes to go in the fourth quarter, leading the Georgetown Hoyas to a 13-10 come-from-behind win over Wagner (0-2) in front of 2,147 at Multi-Sport Field.

After falling behind 7-0 early, the Hoyas drove down the field before settling for a 21-yard field goal by MacZura. The score remained 7-3 until the third quarter, when junior QB Aaron Aiken ran 12 yards for a rushing touchdown to put Georgetown ahead. Aiken finished with 42 yards on 16 carries, in addition to 146 passing yards on 18-38 passing with one interception. Despite the turnover, Georgetown won out on first downs (27-16) and total yards (312-144) as they pushed their overall record to 2-0 after last week's impressive 35-14 win at Davidson.
