Safeway Offers Array of Possibilities to Celebrate Moms This Mother's Day
Spring is in full bloom at Safeway stores, and the grocer is fully stocked for the season’s most popular holiday - Mother’s Day. Whether one is celebrating mothers, grandmothers or wives, one will find just what they need in Safeway’s aisles!
Customers who plan to treat mom with a special meal will find flavorful options in Safeway’s meat and seafood departments, including lobster tails, all manner of shrimp (including cooked, raw, steamed, peeled and deveined), and steak.
Produce is offering specials on healthy options such as fresh berries, asparagus, and fruit and vegetable platters, as well as delectable chocolate-covered long stem strawberries.
Mother’s Day is the single biggest holiday for greeting cards at Safeway stores, and in addition to their wide assortment, from sweet to serious to silly, Safeway also has a large selection of gift cards. Russell Stover boxed candy will be featured as well.
Not surprisingly, Mother’s Day accounts for nearly a quarter of annual flower sales in the U.S., outpacing even Valentine’s Day (according to the National Retail Federation.) Safeway’s floral department is prepared for every occasion, and with the plethora of plants and petals available during spring, Safeway’s floral options are abundant. Among the features in floral are two dozen rose bouquets at just $16.99, tulip bunches for $5, beautiful bouquets starting at $9.99 and a Debi Lily mini modern arrangement at $14.99.
In addition to offering great prices on quality floral every day, Safeway is the only grocer in the region that is an FTD partner, providing floral and gift delivery worldwide for mothers who may not live nearby. The Safeway bakery department always features themed sweets, including decorated brownie bites, cupcakes and cookies, imaginative sheet cakes and much more. As always, with advance orders, Safeway’s bakery can create custom cakes as well.
Wine specials include a sparking favorite, La Marca Prosecco, which can be paired with Safeway’s Unforgettable bouquet for just $39.99. Sonoma Cutrer Chardonnay, Educated Guess Cabernet and La Crema Sonoma Pinot Noir are also featured for Mother’s Day. Safeway stores in DC, Virginia and Florida (and in the Easton and Olney, Maryland stores) include wine and beer departments.
