Vacation Movie Review

Skyler Gisondo, Steele Stebbins, Ed Helms & Christina Applegate (r) star in Vacation

Come on Muffin!

IMDb Plot: Rusty Griswold (Ed Helms) takes his own family on a road trip to "Walley World" in order to spice things up with his wife (Christina Applegate) and reconnect with his sons. Directed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein.

The Griswolds are back (both generations) in Vacation, a hilarious reboot of the 1983 classic. Like its predecessor, it's packed with funny moments (Tartan Prancer, Debbie Do-Anything) and scene-stealing cameos (Chris Hemsworth's faucets, Charlie Day's breakdown) but it manages to stay true to the original formula, without copying it. Helms and Applegate are fun to watch (ditto for the kids) and I broke out in laughter over a dozen times (across 99 minutes.) It may not be "the ride of your life," but Rusty & company come darn close... close enough to guarantee another trip. Where to next time?
