Firebirds Host Military Appreciation Night

UDC's 2-15 record doesn't leave much to cheer about

The UDC men's basketball team looks to snap a five game losing streak tonight, when they host ECC rival Bridgeport at 7. Tonight also marks the first-ever Military Appreciation Night at the University Sports Complex, as the university honors our nation's wounded heroes during the game. All active military and veterans will receive free admission to tonight's game with valid military ID.

The Purple Knights of Bridgeport are on an opposite track from host UDC, winning five in a row and taking a half-game lead in the ECC regular season standings. The Firebirds (2-15) would like to avenge a 92-68 blowout loss last month at Bridgeport. Junior guard Quasim Jones led UDC in defeat with 16 points and six assists; while Ralph Watts chipped in 12 points, while playing a team-high 38 minutes. Bridgeport is led by senior guard Darian David, who tops his team in scoring (16.4 PPG) and minutes played (34.0.)

Tickets cost $5 for general admission (UDC students & faculty get in free) and can be purchased at the box office.
