Mile 22 Movie Review

Mark Wahlberg stars in Mile 22

Take a Breath

Rotten Tomatoes Plot: In a visceral modern thriller from the director of Lone Survivor, Mark Wahlberg stars as James Silva, an operative of the CIA's most highly-prized and least understood unit. Aided by a top-secret tactical command team, Silva must retrieve and transport an asset who holds life-threatening information to Mile 22 for extraction before the enemy closes in. Directed by Peter Berg.

Billions' Terry Kinney says it best, "This is the shittiest, (most) fucked-up shit ever." Mile 22 is one of those rare movies that makes you want to strangle everyone associated with it. This includes director Berg, who apparently can't hold a camera straight anymore, two-time Oscar nominee Wahlberg, whose abysmal performance rivals his previous low in 2008's The Happening, and screenwriter Lea Carpenter, who I'm assuming M.I.T. (Emily Skeggs) was referring to, when she said, "I'm gonna find which bitch wrote this script." And then what? I can think of a few things... None of which includes a sequel.

Grade: F
