The Cloverfield Paradox Movie Review

Chris O'Dowd stars in The Cloverfield Paradox

Where's My Bloody Arm?

Rotten Tomatoes Plot: A group of scientific researchers on a space station attempt to harness a new energy source called the "God Particle," only to unleash something terrifying. Julius Onah (The Girl Is in Trouble) directed this sci-fi thriller, which stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw, David Oyelowo, Daniel Brühl, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris O'Dowd, and Zhang Ziyi.

"Normal life is hanging by a thread," in The Cloverfield Paradox, a not-so-cheap ($45 million) stunt orchestrated by Netflix and Paramount Pictures, to sneak the year's worst movie past an unsuspecting Super Bowl audience. Oren Uziel's convoluted screenplay is abysmal, matched only by Onah's incoherent direction (and followed closely by a poorly cast, normally talented group of actors.) Where's the connection to the first two Cloverfield chapters? Perhaps it was revealed in Mandarin, or conceived in the same dimension that thinks we're dumb enough to confuse this garbage with Alien or Life. Warning: A fourth installment is coming in November.
