Fist Fight Movie Review

Ice Cube stars in Fist Fight

That Was Awkward

Rotten Tomatoes Plot: A mild-mannered high-school teacher (Charlie Day) is accused of getting a fellow teacher (Ice Cube) fired, and is challenged to a fight after the school day ends in this comedy directed by Richie Keen.

Day's Andy asks, "Am I the only one who sees what's going on here?" If he's referring to the lack of humor in Fist Fight, he's not alone. I resisted the urge to walk out (several times) holding out hope for just one laugh, across 91 insufferably long minutes. Fat chance. Then again, what did you expect from a movie that features a three o'clock showdown between 5'7" Day and 5'8" Ice Cube? Not exactly Ali vs. Frazier, is it? Even more improbable... the complete dearth of control/plausibility of super soft high schoolers running roughshod over the faculty. D-U-M-B.
