Dirty Grandpa Movie Review

Robert De Niro & Zac Efron (r) star in Dirty Grandpa

Your Move, Viagra Falls

Rotten Tomatoes Plot: Jason Kelly (Zac Efron) is one week away from marrying his boss's uber-controlling daughter, putting him on the fast track for a partnership at the law firm. However, when the straight-laced Jason is tricked into driving his foul-mouthed grandfather, Dick (Robert De Niro) to Daytona for spring break, his pending nuptials are suddenly in jeopardy. Between riotous frat parties, bar fights, and an epic night of karaoke, Dick is on a quest to live his life to the fullest and bring Jason along for the ride. Ultimately, on the wildest journey of their lives, "dirty" Grandpa and his uptight grandson discover they can learn from one another and form the bond they never had. Directed by Dan Mazer.

Taxi Driver. Raging Bull. Goodfellas... and Dirty Grandpa. Is a quick paycheck worth the embarrassment of proclaiming, "I want to fuck a horse, and drink its blood?" De Niro spits out a myriad of asinine "jokes," each one, less funny and more vulgar than the next in Mazer's uninspired Hollywood debut. John Phillips' screenplay is one of the worst ever, and worthy of a lifelong ban for ineptness. But wait, it gets (much) worse. De Niro's karaoke version of "It Was a Good Day" includes the n-word (twice) and begs the question, "Has De Niro (literally) lost his mind? Garbage.
