Hendrick’s Gin Presents the Second Annual Botanical Bartender Battle
The time for cocktail glory is now!
Hendrick’s Gin will host its second annual Botanical Bartender Battle on Wednesday, November 18th. The event is modeled after a classic tag-team boxing match, pairing - in the peculiar Hendrick’s style - 15 craft bartenders with 15 nightlife bartenders in teams to compete in three rounds of cocktail competition.
“The Botanical Bartender Battle is a large scale bartender competition that was created as a platform and stage to celebrate the bartenders who support the Hendrick’s brand,” says Vance Henderson, Multi-cultural Portfolio Associate for William Grant & Sons. “After last year’s success, we’ve opened up the competition to more bartender teams, increasing from 20 to 30, and gotten the consumers involved by allowing them to not only sample the cocktails but also vote to crown the first round winners.”
The competition kicks off with “The Weigh In,” with each team preparing a punch recipe and competing for the popular vote of the crowd. The top 5 teams will advance to round two, “The Knockdown,” with 10 minutes to create a cocktail to be judged on Flavor, Originality, Presentation, Technique, and Cocktail Name. The top three teams will continue on to the final round, “The KO,” with 10 minutes to create a shooter evaluated on the same criteria.
Winners will be crowned based on their cumulative scores from rounds two and three by the Hendrick’s Judges Commission.
