Fifty Shades of Grey Movie Review

Jamie Dorman stars in Fifty Shades of Grey

50 Shades of Fucked-Up

Rotten Tomatoes Plot: E.L. James' kinky best-seller gets the big-screen treatment with this Universal Pictures/Focus Features co-production. The steamy tale details a sadomasochistic relationship between a college student and a businessman, whose desires for extreme intimacy pen from secrets in his past.

Time to go shopping. Evidently, dating has changed (again) and I need to stock up on blindfolds, whips and chains in order "to compete." Fifty Shades of Grey is bound to make a fortune this weekend; but truth be told, it's a story fairy tale about nothing (Rich boy spoils clueless girl, then ties her up.) It's fun to watch early on; but eventually Kelly Marcel's empty screenplay takes over, followed by countless scenes of Dakota Johnson getting naked (of which, I approve!) Jamie Dornan is surprisingly solid, and Johnson sufficiently flighty. Other than that... an empty (albeit stylish) vessel.
