The Angel in the Window
'Stories change, but the neighborhood doesn't.' Certainly not the small town featured in Amin Dora's charming tale... or so it seems. Ghadi is one of those rare films that's entertaining, funny and uplifting... filled with wondrous images and a cast of characters, the likes of which can only be based on reality. Gossip hurts, but ultimately resurrects a community in desperate need of unison. A joy to watch, whether it's the "5:30 habit," or a woman, 'so stingy, she doesn't even pass the flu.' Ghadi reminds us that things (and people) aren't always what they appear to be. Shukran!
