Wizards Acquire Khris Middleton

The Washington Wizards announced today they have acquired forward Khris Middleton from the Dallas Mavericks in a sign-and-trade agreement that sent D’Angelo Russell to the Memphis Grizzlies as part of a larger six-team deal.

Middleton was originally dealt to Washington from Milwaukee in February 2025. He started in 48 games with the Wizards before being traded to Dallas in February 2026, averaging 10.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game.

The 14-year NBA veteran was selected 39th overall by the Detroit Pistons in the 2012 NBA Draft and was traded to Milwaukee in 2013. A three-time All-Star (2019, 2020, 2022), Middleton was a member of the U.S. Olympic team that captured gold during the 2020 Tokyo Games. In 839 career games (657 starts) with Detroit, Milwaukee, Washington, and Dallas, Middleton has a career average of 16.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game. He has made the postseason nine times (80 games) and started every game during Milwaukee’s 2021 NBA Championship run. In the postseason, Middleton has averaged 20.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game.

Russell was acquired by Washington from Dallas along with Anthony Davis, Dante Exum, and Jaden Hardy in February 2026.
