Better Late Than Not at All
Rotten Tomatoes Plot: "Thor: Love and Thunder" finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he's ever faced - a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the god Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who - to Thor's surprise - inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher's vengeance and stop him before it's too late. Directed by Taika Waititi.

What's Good: Hemsworth is a literal riot as everyone's favorite immortal, quietly emerging as Marvel's biggest and most entertaining character in an overcrowded MCU. He steals the show countless times, ably aided by two strong supporting performances by Portman and Thompson (superb chemistry) and a banner/playful script from Waititi & Jennifer Kaytin Robinson. P.S. Keep both eyes open for a number of adorable cameos, and a hilarious debut by Oscar winner Crowe (as Zeus.)
What's Not: Bale misses the mark as Love and Thunder's primary villain. His character looks sickly throughout, and (literally) pales in comparison to Hemsworth's physical awesomeness. Cate Blanchett (Hela in Thor: Ragnarok,) we miss you.

Runtime: 119 minutes (A Marvel movie under two hours? Yesss!)
