Oyamel Kicks Off Tequila Mezcal Festival Monday

In addition to hosting the Kick-Off Party for the annual Tequila Mezcal Festival on Monday, March 2nd from 6 PM - 9 PM, Oyamel will also host three nights of ticketed dinners in celebration of the agave spirits. Each dinner is inspired by cuisine of Oaxaca, with Chef Omar using unique ingredients from the region like Chicatana Ants, Ayocote Beans and Tlayudas - all exclusive to the cocktail dinners.

Agave Spirits Dinner - Thursday, March 5th, 6:30 PM:
Explore the world of Mexico’s agave spirits with this one-night-only chef’s experience dinner hosted by Oyamel’s Head Chef Omar Rodriguez, created specially for the annual Tequila & Mezcal Festival. Learn more about these unique spirits as you sip and savor your way through the menu that highlights festival specials and authentic Mexican dishes available just for this evening. Each of the five courses will be paired with a tequila or mezcal that is hand-selected by Oyamel’s beverage team.

Chef’s Counter Cocktail Dinners - Tuesday, March 10th and Wednesday, March 11th at 6 PM & 8:30 PM:
For a truly intimate and one-of-a-kind experience, reserve one of six seats at Oyamel’s ceviche bar for a chef-led cocktail dinner as part of the annual Tequila & Mezcal Festival. Hosted by Oyamel’s Head Chef Omar Rodriguez and Beverage Manager Azael Salgado, guests will enjoy an exquisite five-course tasting menu, each paired perfectly with a unique mezcal or tequila cocktail.

During the Tequila Mezcal Festival, there will be specials offered in the restaurant as well, including Taco de cordero a la barbacoa, Lamb shanks braised with ancho, guajillo and cascabel chiles and avocado leaf, with sliced cucumbers and a habanero-mint salsa on a house made corn tortilla; and Chamoyada with mezcal lime sorbet, fresh mango, pineapple, cucumber and jicama, topped with mango espuma, chamoy drizzle and mint.
