Van Ness/UDC has seen two restaurants close of late (Chalin's Restaurant and Quiznos) but thankfully there's a new addition coming to town. Thai Pad is taking over the former Quiznos spot at 4481 Connecticut Avenue, NW, directly across the street from Bread Furst and Burger King. No opening date yet (nor a menu/website) but it's supposed to seat 28 (a tight squeeze, if you ask me.) Thai Pad will open daily at 11 AM, and close Sunday-Thursday at 10:30 PM & Friday-Saturday at 11 PM. I can't wait to try out their Drunken Noodles. Liquor application pending.
