Celebrating the spirit of the fall season, Blue Duck Lounge and Blue Duck Tavern at Park Hyatt Washington, D.C., located at 24th and M Streets, NW, are unveiling a collection of new fall cocktails, each highlighting fresh ingredients from the season’s bounty. Fifteen handcrafted libations and two “mock-tails” are being added to the menu each showcasing herbs and fruits, spices, and house-made infusions. Each cocktail incorporates at least one ingredient or garnish that was sourced directly from hotel’s rooftop garden. These new cocktails were created by Park Hyatt Washington, D.C.. Lead Bartender Cole Burger and will be available through December 31, 2018.

This weekend, one of our favorite tapas restaurants (Boqueria at the corner of 19th & M Streets, NW) is offering a very special Labor Day Boozy Brunch for $39 per person with a decadent selection of Spanish tapas, brunch dishes and churros plus unlimited mimosas, sangria and leche de pantera (coffee, condensed milk & vodka... basically Heaven in a glass.) Usually available on Saturdays & Sundays only, you can also experience the popular Bottomless Brunch on Monday the 3rd. Happy Labor Day!

Ivan Iricanin, founder and CEO of Street Guys Hospitality, is pleased to announce the introduction of unlimited weekend brunch service at his newest venture, Buena Vida, located at 8407 Ramsey Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20910. The Buena Vida Brunch Experience will debut Saturday, June 2 and will be available Saturday and Sunday, from 10 AM to 3 PM. Priced at $35 per person (excluding tax and gratuity) guests can enjoy an endless selection of Mexican fare prepared by Chef de Cuisine Graham Bartlett. Dishes showcase traditional flavors from all the corners of Mexico, and incorporate cage-free eggs and meats primarily sourced from Amish farmers along with local seafood from the Chesapeake. The Buena Vida Brunch Experience must be ordered by the entire table. Dishes will also be available a la carte with prices ranging from $2.50 to $12 each.

Simon Lowe, an internationally recognized designer, hotelier and restaurateur, is pleased to announce the September anticipated opening of Scotts Restaurant, Bar & Cask Club, which will be located at 927 F Street, NW, Washington, DC 20004. Considering iPic Theatres is our unequivocal choice for the best movie "experience" in town, part of me was genuinely looking forward to today's brunch at City Perch Kitchen + Bar at Pike & Rose. Although given the distance (10+ miles) and weather (mild, rainy) a positive review would require more than "greatness by association." Unfortunately, with the exception of one stellar employee and a piece of toast, I left shaking my head in disappointment.

Silver Diner to Make First Major Menu Change in 10 Years

Executive Chef Ype Solicits Extensive Feedback from Customers to Shape the Summer Menu

Silver Diner’s Executive Chef Ype Von Hengst recently announced that he will undertake major menu revisions to the Silver Diner menu. “It was 10 years ago that we extensively changed menu items and implemented a large number of farm-to-table items. This year, we will shorten the menu to increase quality and add new items including more brunch items,” said Von Hengst. Silver Diner has made changes along the way including the addition of vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and lower calorie items but the entire menu has not been edited this drastically in 10 years. All of these changes have been a big success with customers, so Von Hengst is evaluating each current item on the menu and will remove those that are low sellers.
