Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar to Host a Diplomático Rum Dinner, Tuesday, June 19

On Tuesday, June 19, 2018, Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar will host a rum dinner featuring Diplomático Rum, which are produced in Venezuela by Destilerias Unidas and are ranked consistently among the finest South American rums. Guests of this special event will learn the history of the Diplomático distillery, which has been producing top-quality spirits for over 50 years at the foot of The Andes in the Terepaima National Park. The distillery was designed for versatility, with three pot stills and four column stills distilling different styles of spirit from top-grade molasses and sugar cane honeys.

The evening will begin with cocktail hour featuring light bites and a Hemingway Daiquiri, which is made from a combination of Diplomático Planas, fresh lime juice and simple syrup. A four-course dinner, prepared by newly appointed Executive Chef Pablo Catalan, will follow with dishes paired with Diplomático’s finest rums. Standouts featured for the evening include Diplomático Planas, Diplomático Mantuano, Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva, Diplomático Vintage 2002, Diplomático Ambassador and a Diplomatic Corruption cocktail with Diplomático Mantuano, Drambuie, orchard apricot liqueur and velvet falernum, garnished with an orange twist. The cost of the dinner is $85 per person (all inclusive.)
