Just Added: Carla Hall to Appear at December 9-10 MetroCooking DC Show Along with Guy Fieri & José Andrés
Fundraising effort for Chef Jose Andres’ Puerto Rico relief with ticket sales
In addition to Food Network’s Guy Fieri and local favorite José Andrés, it has been announced that Carla Hall from The Chew will participate in the December 9-10 MetroCooking DC Show. Hall will show attendees how to make her famous holiday biscuits and will be signing her cookbooks.
At the James Beard Foundation Cooking Stage will be an all-star lineup, including Fieri, Andrés, and RAMMY award-winners and local DC area chefs including Erik Bruner-Yang, Maketto; Vikram Sunderam, Rasika and Bindaas and Amy Brandwein, Centrolina, along with other regional Beard-honored winners and nominees. In addition, chefs from L’Academie de Cuisine will lead hands on cooking classes.
For a General Admission ticket, at $21.50, event goers can see Fieri, Andres and the Beard chefs; attend the Carla Hall demonstration and ongoing tastings, demos and cooking workshops. Included in the general admission are more than 200 specialty food exhibitors, including a Made in DC Pavilion with local food artisans, selling their wares.
In honor of Chef Jose Andres and his efforts to provide hurricane relief to Puerto Rico, a portion of ticket sales will go to Andres’ World Central Kitchen. The code PUERTORICO should be entered in online ticket purchases to activate this donation.
Several ticketed interactive events within the event include a two-day Beer, Wine & Spirits Garden, with craft beer, specialty wines and spirits. The BBQ Bash with area barbeque restaurants on Saturday, December 9 has Top Chef finalist Marjorie Meek-Bradley as event host. On Sunday, December 10, more than 50 restaurants will serve signature bites at the Grand Tasting Pavilion benefiting SOME (So Others Might Eat.)
