Legal Sea Foods Scoops $1 Cups of Chowder on Chowda Day in Honor of National Soup Month

From our friends at Legal Sea Foods...

In honor of National Soup Month, Legal Sea Foods has declared a ‘Legal’ holiday Chowda Day on Monday, January 15, 2018. For one-day only, customers can enjoy Legal Sea Foods’ hearty New England Clam Chowder for an unbeatable $1 a cup with the purchase of any entrée. There is a limit of one cup of chowder per entrée and no substitutions are accepted.

Legal Sea Foods first opened as a fish market at 237 Hampshire Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1950 and it was here that their famous chowder was first served. Now regularly priced at $6.95 a cup for an eight-ounce serving, the award-winning New England Clam Chowder has become a cult favorite. And Chowda Day has become an annual tradition.

Chowda Day will be celebrated at all four Legal Sea Foods locations in the Washington area including 704 7th Street, NW, Washington, DC (202) 347–0007; 2301 Jefferson Davis Hwy. in Crystal City, Arlington, VA (703) 415-1200; Tysons Galleria in McLean, VA (703) 827-8900, and at National Hall within Ronald Reagan National Airport (571) 551-5988.

Sixty years ago, Legal Sea Foods opened as a fish market in Cambridge, MA and has since cast a wider net - now operating about thirty restaurants along the east coast as well as its own fish processing plant on Boston Harbor. Legal Sea Foods’ iconic tagline, “If it isn’t Fresh, it isn’t Legal!” speaks to its legendary fanaticism for seafood quality and safety. The restaurants serve over 40 varieties of fresh fish and shellfish throughout the year; the menu highlights quintessential New England fare, including its famous New England Clam Chowder that has been served at every Presidential Inauguration since 1981. At the helm of the family owned restaurant group is Roger Berkowitz, a 2017 James Beard Award winner. For more information about Legal Sea Foods and its locations, please visit www.legalseafoods.com.
