Knightsbridge Restaurant Group’s Bibiana Osteria Enoteca Will Undergo a Renovation to Welcome in the New Year

From our friends at Bibiana Osteria-Enoteca...

Ashok Bajaj of Knightsbridge Restaurant Group’s Italian gem, Bibiana Osteria Enoteca, located at 1100 New York Avenue, NW, will close temporarily on January 1st, to undergo a stylish makeover.  The restaurant will reopen to serve lunch and dinner on Monday, January 8th. Bajaj tapped Harry Gregory, co-founder and director of ara Design International, to create the new décor for Bibiana Osteria Enoteca. ara Design International is a leading architectural interior design practice specializing in the global hospitality sector with offices in London, Abu Dhabi and Bali. Gregory was the original designer when Bibiana opened in September 2009, earning recognition among the country’s 20 best new restaurants from Esquire magazine.

The new design scheme for the 140-seat restaurant will showcase crisp, clean, urban Italian styling with cool paint tones and wall coverings. Two photographs of Italian Vespas will be proximately displayed above the 12-seat bar along with new black bar stools and clean display shelving.  Bibiana’s new armchairs will be upholstered in subtle shades of grey fabric, which beautifully complements the modern white tableware and grey accents throughout the restaurant. Dark oak laminate tables will be paired with Italian chairs, of all different styles, to give the room a fun and less-formal ambiance. One set of chairs features black metal frames, sporting a sharper modern feel, while another offers natural timber frames chairs in a subtle grey wash. On the floor, one will find new carpeting that also enhances the chic cool grey color scheme.

One of the most important changes is the addition of a second private dining room, complete with sliding glass door, which can seat 14 guests. Bibiana’s existing 513-square-foot private dining room, which can seat 48 people, and comfortably accommodate up to 80 guests for a reception, will also be refinished with paint and new wall coverings of Italian columns sourced from Sterling Art of London. A newly commissioned Italian collage depicting classic Italian streetscapes including the Trevi Fountain, the Colosseum and the Pantheon can be found in the 12-seat semi-private dining room.

Located in Washington, DC’s hip City Center neighborhood, Bibiana Osteria Enoteca is open for lunch Monday through Friday, from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Dinner is served Monday through Thursday, from 5 PM to 10 PM, and Friday and Saturday from 5 PM to 11 PM. The restaurant is located close to Metro Center at 1100 New York Avenue, NW, at the corner of 12th and H Streets.  For more information, please call (202) 216-9550 or visit the website at www.bibianadc.com.
