From a Game of Thrones-inspired rye libation to an Oaxacan-inspired concoction featuring the region’s signature liquor, mezcal, The Rye Bar at Rosewood Washington D.C.'s six new fall cocktails utilize the best of the season’s ingredients in playful combinations and provide ample excuses to toast to the changing seasons.
The cocktails include:
• The Moral Hazard, garnished and crafted with health-benefitting ginger, also includes vermouth and beach plum gin
• Winter Is Coming, an ode to the popular HBO series “Game of Thrones,” is a concoction of rye, mezcal, cynar, lemon juice, and grapefruit cinnamon syrup
• Oaxacan Winter, inspired by the Mexican city known for its mezcal, features the region’s signature liquor mixed with cherry herring, lemon, aperol, and orange bitters
• All Spice, a combination of several of fall’s most distinguished flavors, includes bourbon, lemon, spiced dry rum, simple syrup, and angostura bitters
• Dark Days Ahead, highlighting fall’s staple fruit, the apple, brings together calvados, averna, lemon, honey syrup, and yellow chartreuse
• OH! D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything and Read), created in celebration of National Literacy Month, is made with apple-infused vodka, an apple and rosemary syrup, lemon juice, and cappelletti aperitivo
