Five Years, a Dozen HIT Pizzas and One Hundred Tattoos
On its fifth birthday, &pizza reflects and celebrates going from H Street, NE to 28th + Broadway
&pizza, the beloved Washington, DC-based brand that started in 2012 with one location on H Street, NE and is now recognized as one of the most innovative fast casual fast growth brands in the country, will celebrate its fifth birthday by thanking their loyal hometown fans who started it all.
On Thursday, July 13th, &pizza will surprise and delight guests with unique birthday gifts throughout all of its shops, and show some special love to the OG shop (H Street, NE) by bringing back a fan favorite pizza for just one day.
“We are who we are entirely because of the D.C. community’s love and support,” says CEO, Co-founder and Creative Director, Michael Lastoria. “It’s been a wild and incredible journey going from H Street NE in DC to opening on 28th Street and Broadway in NYC last month. Today is not only a celebration of the years, it’s a day for us to show our appreciation for the loyal guests and dedicated Tribe who inspire us to go all in and serve up amazing experiences every single day.”
THE BACON CHEESEBURGER:
&pizza is bringing back the Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza - one of the most popular limited edition pies in the brand’s five year history, exclusively to the H Street, NE shop on July 13. The pizza, only available at this location on it’s birthday features romesco sauce and two kinds of cheese (cheddar and mozzarella) topped with ground beef, bacon, and topped with cherry tomatoes, pickles, romaine lettuce, crunchy potato sticks and a spicy ketchup drizzle. The only way to truly enjoy this bigger than life burger pie is to fold it half with plenty of napkins on hand.
BIRTHDAY PRESENTS FOR ALL:
On July 13, all DMV and Philadelphia area &pizza shops will give away prizes at random to 200 lucky guests per shop, ranging from free craft sodas and to free pizzas. To join the celebration guests should walk in, order their favorite Hit pizza, and look inside the brand’s signature box for their chance to get a limited time app credit.
For NYC guests, the tradition of free tattoos will continue. &pizza gave away 22 free signature ampersand logo tattoos during the NOMAD shop opening and still had a waitlist at the end of the day. Now fans will have another chance on our birthday. New Yorkers can follow @andpizza on Instagram, comment on the day's tattoo post to share why they want the & tattoo. The brand will select the first 5 people to comment to receive the tattoo and free pizza for a year.
5 YEARS OF DESIGN:
&pizza will release Volume 1 of it’s newspaper-style Art Catalogue documenting the wide variety of localized art and design in their shops over the past 5 years. Architects, designers, graffiti artists, illustrators and muralists have all been a part of the ever-growing Little Giants family - pushing the boundaries of black and white design to ultimately re-imagine the pizza shop. This catalogue is a collection of the work that reflects the first five years of the brand’s uniquely expressed vision and will be available for free in shops in the coming weeks.
