Sweetgreen Announces Sweetlife Block Party

From our friends at Sweetgreen...

Sweetgreen Celebrates Music, Food and Community with Music by Blood Orange on Saturday, July 15th in Dupont Circle

Sweetgreen, a seasonal, scratch cooking restaurant with a mission of connecting people to real food, today announced the Sweetlife Block Party, the first iteration of its new sweetlife series. The block party will take place on Saturday, July 15th behind Sweetgreen Dupont Circle  - the same spot where the Sweetlife Festival first began seven years ago.

“What has made Sweetgreen and the Sweetlife so special is the support of our customers, friends, and world-class team members in our restaurants,” said Sweetgreen Co-Founder Nathaniel Ru. “With August marking our 10-year anniversary, we’re excited to bring Sweetlife back to its roots in Dupont for a celebration with our DC community, who have supported us since day one.”

With a goal of bringing the local community together, the Sweetlife Block Party will include food experiences by Sweetgreen, DC Chef Erik Bruner-Yang’s Maketto, Dolcezza, Compass Coffee, Flying Dog Brewery and Paradise Springs Winery. Plus, DC music gurus All Things Go will be onsite curating music featuring local artists.

The block party will culminate with a live performance by Blood Orange. The musical project of Dev Hynes, Blood Orange’s latest album Freetown Sound was hailed as “experimental, healing, agitating, straightforward, [and] multi-layered” by Rolling Stone magazine.
