Downtown DC’s favorite American restaurant with a French twist, Central Michel Richard (1001 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW) has plenty to celebrate this summer with National Fried Chicken Day and Bastille Day next month!
National Fried Chicken Day is on Thursday, July 6 and Central’s $100 family-style Fried Chicken Dinner serves up to five people and comes with four chicken breasts, four chicken legs and eight nuggets, along with sides of mashed potatoes, watercress salad and mustard sauce. For dessert, choose from two ice cream or sorbet flavors: vanilla, chocolate, coconut or mango. Cocktail lovers can sip a Summer Sweet Tea for $14, made with peach infused buffalo trace bourbon, peach shrub, black sweet tea, mint and lemon.
To celebrate Bastille Day, Central will kick off its weeklong celebration of festive food and wine pairings on Tuesday, July 11 (see below.) In honor of the holiday, Central will end the week with a special three-course menu for $48 with optional French wine pairings for an additional $24, available Friday and Saturday, July 14-15. The prix fixe menu includes gougères and fricassé d’escargots in the appetizer course, a lamb chop, piperade, baby kale & yogurt cumin sauce entree and Paris-Brest for dessert.
