New Bethesda Hot Spot Scoring with Unique Menu Featuring Maryland Staples
Lucky Strike Entertainment, the leader in entertainment dining concepts for all ages, has opened its core flagship concept, Lucky Strike, at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda, serving exceptional gastropub cuisine, craft beer, Victorian inspired cocktails, plus 12 lanes of premium bowling - wrapped in a world of audio and visual discovery.
This is not your average bowling alley! Bethesda features Lucky Strike Entertainment’s first-ever open kitchen design, bringing guests closer to the culinary experience, and the team has crafted a menu that offers food enthusiasts an eclectic variety of flavorful American comfort cuisine designed to please every palate. The diverse selection of starters and shared plates ranges from local favorites such as jumbo lump crab cakes and crab soup, to such items as bacon wrapped shrimp, crispy tempura Portobello mushroom fries, roasted meatballs and truffle deviled eggs, early crowd favorites in Lucky Strike’s opening month.
The crab dishes are inspired by co-founder Gillian Foster, who grew up on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. She and husband Steven Foster, CEO, knew decisively that when opening a restaurant in a state renowned for its ubiquitous blue crabs, Maryland crab cakes had to be on the menu, and they had to be great!
The Bethesda kitchen, under Executive Chef David Hynes, also offers entrees including linguini pomodoro, strip steak, grilled salmon, brick oven-roasted half chicken and smoked bacon wrapped meatloaf. In addition to an array of burgers and sandwiches, Lucky Strike Bethesda also offers brick oven pizzas and sushi, another early guest favorite - and another reminder this isn’t your parents’ bowling alley.
Guests will want to save room for delectable desserts that include Maryland’s official state dessert, the Original Smith Island Cake (lemon or chocolate), brick oven-baked bread pudding (served with warm rum sauce and whipped cream) or brownie (served with vanilla scented strawberries, ice cream and whipped cream), a Roasted Bananas Foster Sundae and a Chocolate Chip Sundae!
The spacious bar area offers plenty of seating as well as numerous high-definition televisions and serves up an impressive lineup of regional craft brews from respected local breweries, including Cutlass (Heavy Seas), Duckpin (Union Craft Brewing), Southside Rye IPA (Denizen’s Brewing), Lot No3 IPA (Evolution), The Truth Imperial (Flying Dog), Resurrection (The Brewer’s Art), Sweet Baby Jesus (DuClaw Brewing) and Van Dammit (Jailbreak Brewing) from Maryland.
Classic and craft cocktails are another feature of the drink menu, which also includes an array of wines.
Operating hours for Lucky Strike Bethesda are 11 AM until midnight Sunday through Thursday, and 11 AM until 2 AM on Friday and Saturday.
