Ed Sheeran, Lorde, Sam Smith and Ross Lynch Are Taking Up Residency at Madame Tussauds Washington, DC

The figures of some of pop music’s biggest names will be in Washington, DC for a limited time

With eight (8) Grammy wins and 21 nominations between them, Madame Tussauds Washington, DC will welcome the wax figures of some of music’s biggest and brightest stars: Ed Sheeran, Lorde, Sam Smith and Ross Lynch. Starting March 31st, as the cherry blossoms begin to bloom, visitors to the DC attraction will get “backstage access” to their favorite global superstars - time for that selfie!

One of the hottest artists in the world right now, Ed Sheeran’s new album “Divide” spent its first two weeks at No. 1 and smashed the Spotify record for most streams of an album in its first week with over one quarter of a billion plays in just five days.

New Zealand pop sensation Lorde is also storming the charts with her latest singles Green Light and Liability. Lorde became the first New Zealander to ever reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with her hit Royals, which also won her two Grammy Awards. Her sophomore album Melodrama is one of most highly-anticipated releases of the year, as she gears up for appearances at summer’s hottest music festivals including Coachella, The Governor’s Ball, Lollapalooza and more.

English singer-songwriter Sam Smith is an equal musical force to be reckoned with. Many of his fans have speculated that the follow-up record to his 2014 worldwide knockout, In The Lonely Hour will drop momentarily. Smith’s voice is one that is unlike all others, establishing him as an artist with a recognizable name in no time at all.

At just 21 years old Colorado-born actor and musician Ross Lynch is no stranger to adoring fans. As well as having starred in major TV shows and movies including Disney’s Austin & Ally and the Teen Beach Movie series and a stellar solo career, the musician is also lead vocalist of pop-rock band R5.

“It’s not every day you can see your favorite musicians standing in the same room,” said Therese Alvich, General Manager of Madame Tussauds. “These artists are incredibly impressive individuals with their own unique sound. With eight Grammy wins and 21 nominations between the four, we are really excited to offer these figures to DC.”

The stars join other legendary musicians in the attraction including Justin Bieber, Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, and Rihanna for a limited time only.
