By virtue of its regular-season championship, American University will host the 2016 Patriot League Volleyball Tournament this Saturday and Sunday at Bender Arena.
The Eagles, 25-7 overall and 15-1 in the league, will open the four-team event at 1 PM on Saturday by playing host to Navy, which is the No. 4 seed with a 10-6 PL mark and a 20-8 overall record.
The 4 PM semifinal on Saturday will match second-seeded Colgate (17-10, 13-3) and No. 3-seed Army West Point (20-10, 12-4.)
Saturday's semifinal winners will play for the championship at 1 PM on Sunday. The Patriot League champion receives the league's automatic qualifier for the NCAA Tournament.
AU will host the Patriot League Tournament for the 14th time in the 16 seasons the Eagles have been a member of the league.
American won last year's PL Tournament by sweeping Colgate and Army West Point a year ago.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children per day. Students of participating schools are free with a valid student ID. Tickets are available for purchase online at www.aueagles.com/tickets.
